I realize now that when I get this card, for me it is referring to my AA meetings where the steps include a "fearless and searching moral inventory" of self to lead to spiritual awakening. All the Swords people have that, but the King is even rational about that.  He's not apt to come blazing in ripping new a-holes like the Knight, yet he will cut right to the center and speak the truth.  Your description made me smile.  See? He can be a real asshole sometimes (IMO), true...but he's the one I often go to for assessments that are fearlessly honest. This particular guy has the hard Sword edges softened a bit by some prominanet watery elements in his natal horoscope chart.
