Great article on a very difficult topic. I've always enjoyed Halloween/Samhain and the energy at that time of the year. The veil is thinner and therefore energy is just so much more intense and easier to feel/work with as well.Psychics Connect Onlinehttp://atellpsychictarot.com/ask-atell-how-do-psychics-connect-during-readings/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30754098.post-87471244469788810572012-12-08T12:25:36.226-05:002012-12-08T12:25:36.226-05:00The artist is Andrew Dobell and you would need to ...The artist is Andrew Dobell and you would need to seek permission from him. http://anarky.cgsociety.org/gallery/334838/
Ginny Clayton Hunthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18429211666726488097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30754098.post-89097135917297482102012-12-07T18:19:00.786-05:002012-12-07T18:19:00.786-05:00Do you mind if i use the top picture for the logo ...Do you mind if i use the top picture for the logo of my airsoft team?Deathcon Airsoftnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30754098.post-60088074285428470202011-12-17T11:35:03.643-05:002011-12-17T11:35:03.643-05:00You're right, Diana, Death in Tarot is usually...You're right, Diana, Death in Tarot is usually NOT as terrible as it seems, but I think what often irritates me is that tarot readers are too quick to spin it positively without letting the Ending part sink in first.Ginny Claytonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03759784851970527096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30754098.post-44565624951943714872011-12-15T11:29:09.801-05:002011-12-15T11:29:09.801-05:00I always say to my readers that Death is not so te...I always say to my readers that Death is not so terrible after all. It kind of combats all kinds of fundamentalisms and prejudices and shows how we're all one family here on earth. I especially love the resilience of traditions and how, despite other forces trying to eradicate meaningful expressions, they just morph, as you say, into another expression of the same thing. There is no pristine human culture. We share. :)Ginny Claytonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03759784851970527096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30754098.post-85399770685507737142011-10-31T12:52:57.369-04:002011-10-31T12:52:57.369-04:00Dear Jenny,

It helps put the significance of these concepts into perspective. It also shows us how things morph over time. Enjoyed the images you shared. Great research!

"Honoring Death" reminds me of a transpersonal psychology/shamanic slogan "Death as an Ally." By this we mean that by keeping death on one shoulder as we pass through life, it enhances our appreciation of living.

As a guest minister at my local Unity church, I spoke yesterday about "Unmasking our Authentic Selves" which touched upon the idea of Halloween masks as a way of accessing our hidden parts or energies with the potential of integrating this hidden self into life more consciously.

When we die to our old limited image of ourselves, like a snake shedding its outdated skin, we emerge refreshed and more alive. From the Hanged Man, through Death, to Temperance this is a journey of release and renewal. Just as Samhain signifies the end of summer, beginning of the dark days, we enter the unknown to be reborn next spring/Beltane.

By honoring death, we honor life.

In Spirit,
KatrinaKatrina Wynnehttp://tarotcounseling.orgnoreply@blogger.com
